Bauxite and Built 2016

These works were part of a collaborative exhibition, Built, at Linton and Kay in the Perth CBD. They were made using terracotta, hebel stone, concrete and earth gathered from the hills of Perth to the coast. I employed Chris Vescovo, a concreter, to render the blocks in concrete while I assisted and oversaw the sections closest to the detailed areas. The forms referenced different architectural icons, now gone, in Perth and the colours and materials; concrete, terracotta and earth, connected those forms to a sense of place. This show was organised and curated by artist Matthew McVeigh.
